As someone who has been a member of this organization since it was formed 20 years ago, I have observed its accomplishments, and shortcomings, first hand. Going back to its original mission, what was then known as the ABI EDI committee was instrumental in defining many of the EDI transactions we use today in the alcohol beverage business. The ABI EDI committee was also responsible for defining standards that are in use today for our external case coding data. Those are just two of our memorable achievements. We have also encountered some disappointments.
